A loan of $400 helped to buy a young steer.

Santiago De Jesús's story

Santiago is 47 years old. He did not have the opportunity to go to school as he was the oldest of 5 children and he had to help his parents by working. He is married and his wife makes a living selling cashew nuts. He has four children but they are all married so Santiago and his wife live alone in their home.

Santiago has always made a living working in agriculture. He learned this occupation from his parents. He also buy livestock to make a profit. He rides his bicycle five kilometers to get to where his plot of land is.

He will use the money from this loan to invest in the purchase of a young steer because he wants to have a pair of yoked steers. Santiago's dreams are to be able to get ahead in his work, have breeding cattle and have a dignified home where he can live together with his wife.
