A loan of $2,500 helped a member to purchase rice, yams, corn, condiments, and vegetable oil.

Mahuwegnidaho Group's story

The group MAHUWEGNIDAHO is composed of three persons who reside in the same district. This is the fourth time this group has requested financial aid from ALIDé to boost their businesses. The group representative, Gbessiede Pulchérie, is the one with her hand raised in the photo. She is 46 years old and married to a man named André. The couple have two children to support.

Gbessiede Pulchérie jointly ensures with her husband that the diverse household needs are met. To do so, she runs a business selling food (rice, pounded yams, fermented polenta) in a district in Benin. She has been in this business for about twenty years. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin.

Seeking to satisfy her customers and to increase her sales and revenues, Gbessiede Pulchérie is requesting, along with the other members of the group MAHUWEGNIDAHO, a fourth loan from ALIDé. This loan will be used to enhance their inventory of products and to increase their customer base. The previous loans were indeed paid back.
