Lucky-B Group's story

Shabani is a man in his late thirties with two daughters who are still young. He is divorced and supports himself by managing an internet cafe business together with selling cellular phones. His internet cafe is open from 7am to 6pm daily and is able to generate a fair return each month. Shabani has been in this business for two years now. Internet cafes are a necessary and important service in his region, as internet service is still a challenge in most parts of Tanzania. He aims to improve his cafe by offering faster internet and other necessary services. Shabani is requesting his first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He will use this loan to purchase a business computer and cellular phones to resell. Shabani dreams of expanding his business. He will share this loan with his loan group, "LUCKY-B," which consists of three people. The people of this group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
