Massavo Group's story

Massavo is a group made up of 20 people who live in the same district. The group's representative, Dorcas (whose hand is raised in the picture), is 34 years old and married to Joseph. The couple have 3 dependent children who all attend school. Dorcas and her husband live together with their children and both take care of the children's various expenses. Dorcas did not go to school. She has been selling fabrics and doughnuts (made with wheat flour) from her home as a sideline business for nearly 4 years. Dorcas is passionate about her business which allows her to meet her needs and those of her children. Dorcas gets her supplies at a market in Benin. In order to be able to satisfy her customers, Dorcas is requesting a second loan, together with the other Massavo group members. This loan will enable them to better respond to their customer demand and to earn more profits.
