A loan of $1,500 helped to buy pigs and sell pork meat.

Gladis Elizabeth's story

Gladis, 35, was unable to get an education. She is the eldest of six siblings and had to start working at a very young age to help her mother. Now she lives in a common-law relationship and her husband works in agriculture. They have three dependent children who attend school.

Gladis works with her husband three hours a day and then makes lunch for the children when they get home from school. Basic grains have always been the crops she grows on the land which is 300 meters from home.

The loan she is requesting through CrediCampo is to buy pigs that she will raise and later sell as pork meat. She also will buy materials to build a pig pen. This will give her extra income to help her husband cover household expenses.

Her goal is to have another source of income and she likes the pig business. She also will be able to help the community by selling ecological meat. Of course, she also wants her children to get an education.
