A loan of $4,000 helped to buy a freezer, an oven, a generator and other equipment for the restaurant.

Astrude's story

Astrude's restaurant, Amical Bar Resto, is one of the oldest restaurants in the heart of Port-au-Prince. Under the leadership of Astrude, the business has financially supported its employees despite the rough period after the earthquake. A major part of the restaurant building collapsed during the earthquake of January 2010. As a trained cook, Astrude took the initiative to reopen the only restaurant in the community providing her own talent in the kitchen. However, the lack of equipment prevents the business from satisfying higher demand. A loan from Zafen will help Astrude to buy the equipment needed (Freezer, Oven, Generator, Chairs, Water Cooler and Fans) to attract and serve more customers.
