A loan of $2,450 helped a member to buy house building materials for the construction of a dwelling house for her family.

U.b.c. Jusu Memorial Group's story

Meet this group of able and hardworking school teachers from the southern city of Bo, Sierra Leone’s second capital city. Together they have come to Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org, to apply for a loan. With the help of this loan, they will be able to buy or invest in things that alone, with their mere salaries, they will not be able to buy or invest in. And at the end of each month, they can easily repay SMT/Kiva lenders from their monthly salaries.

Stella is their featured group leader. Born in Bonthe, Southern Sierra Leone, Stella is 42 years of age. She is married and has five children, two of whom are attending school/college. Stella is a professional school teacher and has been in the teaching profession for 20 years now.

She has requested this loan in order to buy house building materials, like iron corrugated sheets, cements, iron rods, etc., for the construction of a dwelling house for her family.

In this group: Stella M., Katherine M., Mr Mohamed M., Agnes Boi, Miss Juliet K., Margaret M.
