A loan of $500 helped to increase the quantity of fruit she sells.

Paula's story

Paula is 50 years old and lives with her husband Manuel, who has a business where he transports and sells goods by tricycle. They have two 10-year-old twin daughters, María del Rosario and María Ángela, whom Paula adores. For 10 years, Paula has been a traveling salesperson, aided by her young daughters and selling fruit on her tricycle. Paula works from 8 am to 4 or 5 pm, which is when there is the greatest demand for fruit. Her optimism has enabled her to be successful for her family, since she cannot read or write and many people had underestimated her capabilities. However, Paula showed that, with great enthusiasm and strength, one can achieve their goals. This mother wants her two daughters to study, to be able to defend themselves in life, and not to have to experience what she herself had to deal with her in her youth. The loan that Paula requests will be invested in buying more fruit so she can grow her business and establish it in a permanent location.
