Sylivia lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with two children, one of whom attends school. She is also looking after her grandfather. She has been selling green bananas, tomatoes, and onions at retail in the market for the last ten years, working seven days a week. She also does some farming and sells the farm produce in order to earn more income.
She has requested a loan of 1,000,000 Uganda Shillings from MCDT SACCO to enable her to stock more green bananas, tomatoes, oranges, and onions. Her challenges include thieves. Her dream is to upgrade from retail to wholesale, supplying other kinds of farm produce from her own farm. She joined MCDT to ensure timely loans.
She and her husband live in a rented house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent.
