Rose is married woman with six children, four of whom are in school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are school fees and food for the family.
For the past six years, she has operated a shop kiosk business, selling to her neighbours and passersby. She mentioned price fluctuation as her major challenge. She dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.
With the loan, she wants to purchase maize flour, wheat flour, sweets, cooking oil and biscuits for resale. She decided to join Yehu to get financial support.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
