Hawa's story

Hawa is a 34-year-old married woman with 3 children. She runs a general store in the town of Kandeh, which is in the southern area in Sierra Leone. She was a housewife before she started a business to pay household expenses.

She has been in this business for years and sells soap, toothpaste, biscuits and drinks from her home. Her business is her only source of income. She says that her business is doing well.

Hawa requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase a soap, toothpaste, biscuits and drinks. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to change her family's standard of living and increase her business.

In the future, she would like to expand her business.
