Hawa's story

Hawa is 48 years old and married with 3 children. She runs a general store in the town of Kandeh, which is in the southern area in Sierra Leone. She started her business to contribute to pay her home expenses.

She has been in this business for years and sells soap, toothpaste, biscuits and drinks from home. Her business is the only source of income. She says that the main challenges to her business are insufficient capital to expand her business and few customers.

Hawa requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase soap, toothpaste, biscuit sand drinks to sell. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her change her family's standard of living and increase her business.

In the future, she would like to expand her business.
