A loan of $850 helped to acquire platters of salad to resell.

Awa Peulh's story

Ms. Awa is a woman leader and very ambitious, and she has made profitable investments in the program by acquiring kitchen utensils and chairs that she rents out for social or religious events. A widow, she is 57 years old and supports by herself, without family help, two children in addition to her two grandchildren.

Awa is a vendor of vegetables at the central market. She has considerable experience in this business and has a loyal customer base, since her products are of good quality.

With this loan, she intends to acquire from producers some platters of salad at 15,000 francs CFA each. She will resell them in bunches at 200, 300, 350, and even 400 francs or according to customer needs.

Finishing up her house, she is thinking about completing her fence by using the profits generated from her business.
