The 17 members of this group are involved in a variety of activities. Each one of them works hard to be able to help her family through her own work and the mutual aid of all. Luisa is one of the members of the group. She works preparing and selling a variety of food, which she makes herself and then goes out to sell as a street vender. She says that she now has a good number of clients, thanks to the fact that her food is very tasty.

Luisa says that she is asking for this loan to be able to buy ingredients to make the dishes she sells: tomatoes, onions, meat, chicken and so on. In this way she will continue working and striving as she has been doing. She expresses thanks for the opportunity they are receiving to be able to help their families through the work of all of the group members.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
