A loan of $200 helped with general maintenance, reupholstery and changing the tires.

Romelio's story

Romelio is 38 years old. He lives with his spouse and their four young children (16, 13, 10 and 7 years old) who are in school in the Santo Tomás district. Their house is made of rustic materials. Their community's population works in agriculture, specifically growing coffee. Due to the hilly terrain of the region fruit trees can be planted in the lower zones near the rivers. The people of this region are also involved in selling these products and livestock. The district is located in the Cutervo province which is in the Cajamarca region in Peru's northern sierra. Romelio works as a moto-taxi driver. He transports passengers in the district of Santo Tomas and its villages. He has a loyal customer base. He is seeking a loan of 500 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa to perform general maintenance, reupholster the seats and change the tires on his moto-taxi. This will allow him to perform better work without worrying about his vehicle. He will also be able to generate greater earnings and improve his quality of life.
