A loan of $300 helped to buy corn, lime powder and firewood and refurbish her stall.

Maria Isabel's story

María has a business making tortillas which she works in from 6am to midday. She already has a lot of experience in doing this work and was taught the skills by her mum. She is married and lives with her husband, who is a bricklayer, and a son. They both look for ways to cover the household's basic needs.

She plans to buy corn, lime powder and firewood and refurbish her stall. She will increase her productivity and improve her business's image. She hopes to have the continued support of her customers and increase her sales. This will give her the basis for paying off her loan punctually.

Her dream is to have enough money to buy a piece of land where she will build her house.
