A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for renovating the barn and to purchase 2 oxen.

Seda's story

Seda lives with her family in Mrganush village, in the Ararat region. She and her family have been involved in agribusiness for 15 years. They run a farm which includes a cow, two calves and a big orchard where a large variety of fruit trees are grown (peach, cherry, plum, nut, apple and pear). Seda's father and brother sell the gathered harvest at local markets to earn an income for the family's living. Agriculture is the only source of their income so it is very important for this hardworking family to run their farm in a sustainable way.

The requested loan of USD 3,000 is important for Seda to pay for renovations to the barn and to purchase 2 oxen. As this is Seda's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history.
