Intisar is a 56-year-old widowed Palestinian refugee, who has been working hard for her living since her husband passed away, leaving her alone with no one to help her with her living expenses. Seven years ago, Intisar started her own business selling veils, which attracted most of the camp’s population who want such items, even through her limited income and living costs have made it impossible to develop her business widely and properly. For this reason, Intisar is taking out a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua, to increase her merchandise with a specially released summer collection that will attract’ customers’ attention and develop her business. This will be Intisar's sixth loan cycle at Al Majmoua. Through her previous loans, she was capable of increasing her business capital, since she couldn't save enough money from her limited income for this purpose. She hopes that one day she can open another business that will cover most of her living needs.
