A loan of $3,475 helped a member increased credit in order to buy wholesale merchandise.

Flor De Amancay Group's story

The “Flor de Amancay” [Amancae Flower] Association is located in the Villa Adela neighborhood and has worked with Pro-Mujer for more than a year.

Most members are married and each has an average of five children; in many cases their spouses have abandoned them, leaving them solely responsible for their families. It is because of this that they started small businesses with the goal of obtaining household income.

The Flor de Amancay Association works in different markets and streets of the city selling diverse products such as school supplies, plastics, purses and bags, hair accessories, and other items. These products are obtained from wholesalers to then be retailed. This group needs increased credit in order to buy wholesale merchandise in greater quantities and in this way have greater earnings and sufficient income to maintain their households.

In this group: Martha, Justina, Ana, Julia, Filomena, Guillermina*, Arminda, Clemencia, Aida, Marcia*, Virginia, Jose Luis, Marina, Rogelia, Sandra
