A loan of $325 helped to buy 50 brooms, 40 baskets, 100 boxes of body care lotion.

Bernadette's story

Ms.Bernadette G. was born in 1942 in Ouidah and is married to Pierre BOKO, a retired accountant. She was raised by her paternal grandmother, who used to work with her selling pagnes (colorful West African cloth). Next, she got started on her own with her husband's financial assistance. She used to buy pagnes, perfume, and soap that she sold at the grand Dantokpa marketplace of Cotonou. A victim of burglary, she ended up at home, where she sold goods such as charcoal, woven baskets, and leaves and bark for making tea (infusions). Today, she has resumed selling cosmetics, namely soap, perfume, ointments, body care lotions, and other beauty products. She is requesting this third loan in the amount of 160,000 francs CFA to expand her display of goods.
