A loan helped to buy agricultural supplies to care for her coffee cultivations.

Maria Cleotilde's story

Doña María is 54 years old and in her youth, in spite of varying necessities, had the opportunity to complete her primary education. She is married and she and her husband make a living through coffee cultivation. From their home, they have four children of which the first two are now married and live apart, and the other two live and work with her and their father.

She makes a living cultivating coffee since she and her husband have a property which is their main source of income. The greater part of her life has been dedicated to this field, from when she was small since her father inherited the land where she now works, with her best sales taking place at the beginning of each year. Her property is located close to the house she inhabits with her family so she can easily walk there.

She requests financial support at this time to buy fertilizers, manure, foliar sprays, and to hire labor to weed and fertilize the plants. With this funding, she knows that her business will improve because the harvest will increase if the plants are well tended. Her future plans include extending her property so she can cultivate a block of land for each of her children so that they may have their own source of income.
