Fetije is the mother of seven children, living in an Ashakli community. Her husband receives social support and assistance but they are still very poor and live in substandard living conditions. As part of a way to make even a small amount of money to help, she works with her sons transporting different items (in the picture with one of her sons) and iron with her small transportation vehicle. However she is requesting a loan to purchase a cultivator for her transportation needs. This loan will help her to work more efficiently and with much more ease, therefore supplying her family with more income. She would like to thank all of the lenders for making her work easier and giving her the opportunity to support her family better.

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
