A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for fertilizer, seeds and a harvester (agro machine).

Marine's story

Marine lives in Tasik village with her husband and two children, a 17-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son.

Marine has been involved in agribusiness for 18 years. She runs a big and beautiful farm that includes livestock (cows, oxen and calves), cultivation of wheat, emmer wheat, potatoes and cabbage, as well as a small orchard where nut, apple and pear trees grow. Marine's husband and son sell the harvest in the local markets and gather income for the family. The requested loan of USD 3000 will be a great support for Marine's farming business. She plans to purchase fertilizer, seeds and a harvester (agro machine) needed for her farm. As this is Marine's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history.
