A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for two cows and barley, as a forage for the livestock.

Narine's story

Narine is an experienced agronomist from Hartashen village, of the Syunik region. She lives with her husband and two sons.

It has been more than five years since Narine and her husband have been engaged in cattle breeding, in aviculture, and in breeding a livestock of sheep. With the help of her husband, Narine sells the agricultural products in the local market, which is a very important source of their income.

To continue running her agribusiness in a sustainable way, Narine needs a loan of USD 3,000 to pay for two cows and barley, as a forage for the livestock.

She has already taken a loan from a local financial institution, but unfortunately she wasn't able to pay it back. However, thanks to hard work during recent times, Narine was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments.

So, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.

Narine and her family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them to maintain their agribusiness.
