Fatmata

A loan of $350 helped to purchase more creams, earrings, underwear and chains for resale.

Fatmata's story

Fatmata is in her early 30s and married with three children. She sells creams, earrings, underwear and chains in OIC Ropolo, which is in the northern area of Sierra Leone. She started her business to become self-reliant.

Fatmata has been in this business for several years and she sells different types of retail items within a busy market area. Her business is the only source of income she has. She says that the main challenge to her business is insufficient capital.

Fatmata has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more creams, earrings, underwear and chains for resale. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her educate her children and increase her business. In the future, she would like to expand her business.
