A loan of $700 helped a member to pay for the land plowing fee and to buy fertilizer.

Saky's Group's story

Saky is a villager from the Srey Snorm district, located in Siem Reap province. She is 47 years old and has four children to support, as they are still in school. Three hectares of rice cropping and one hectare of cassava farming are the main source of income for her entire family, and it generates about 35,000 KHR. This is the third loan for Saky with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has repaid back her past loan completely, and it enables her to uplift her lifestyle in a good pace. For this cycle, she and her co-borrower are applying for a loan of 1,400,000 KHR each. Saky plans to use a portion of the loan to pay for land plowing fee and another portion to buy fertilizer. She strongly hopes that the loan enables her to earn a higher income to better support her family, and allows her to have financial support to buy school materials for her four children.
