A loan of $5,825 helped a member to renovate her locale, and buy juicers, glasses, benches, two fans and different flavored malts.

Progreso 2 Group's story

Sugar cane production is the main business for people living in Vicente Camalote and nearby communities all year round. Milling the cane at the "La Margarita" factory takes six months and the rest of the year is for repair.

In Oaxaca there are several women who make up the communal bank "Progreso 2" which is requesting a loan through VisionFund Mexico. They chose that name because the loan enables them to progress. The members and their businesses are: Amalia - natural product sales; Benedicta - snack sales; and Anayhely - snack sales.

Amalia has been selling natural products for four years. She has a club and earns a good profit. The loan she is requesting is to renovate parts of her locale, and buy juicers, glasses, benches, two fans and different flavored malts.

Her greatest dream is to establish a mini-chain of locales in different communities and expand more. She enjoys what she does because she says it is wonderful to help people with the products she sells.
