Mrs. Pech Thorn Village Bank Group's story

The village bank loan group which is located in Veal Thom Village in Kandal Province consists of fifteen people and they plan to use the loan which they have obtained for different purposes.

Mrs. Pech T. is the village bank president who has been selected from the members. She is a village chef’s assistant as well as a farmer. She now faces a small problem because her field is infertile and this is having a bad effect on her crop. Therefore she decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizers and pesticides to support her field to make her crop more productive.

One member in this village bank has end-of-term loans and the rest have monthly payment loans. This member is not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
