Adama's story

Meet 30-year-old Adama from Magburaka, Makeni Northern area in Sierra Leone. She is married and has two children.

In 2009, Adama established her plastic rubber business. She began her business because she wanted to create income for her children. She works at the business 10 hours per day and six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is price inflation.

Adama requires a loan in order to purchase more plastic bowls, buckets, plastic chairs and food containers for resale. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to pay her children's school fees and increase her business. In the future, Adama plans to develop an international business.
