Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $525 helped a member to buy potash for her cassava.

Mom Roun's Group's story

Mom, aged 31, is a resident from Ponhea Krek district of Kampong Cham province. She deals with her financial burden for her family via cassava farming and her paid-working job. The business generates for her about KHR 34,000 per day.

Mom is a first-time borrower with VisionFund Cambodia (Kiva ‘s partner) and her joint borrower is also a first-time borrower. Mom is seeking KHR 1,600,000 whereas her co-borrower is applying for KHR 500,000. As a leader, Mom will spend her entire loan portion to buy potash for her cassava. She hopes that this purchase will boost her crop yield.
