Linda's story

Linda belongs to the "Amigas por Siempre" (Forever Friends) Communal Bank, located in the Jr. Jose Foqui Mz. ñ Lt. 29, Yarinacocha District, Coronel Portillo province, Ucayali department. She is 39 years old, is the mother of 3 children, 2 grown-up and one that still depends on her. She is also married and her husband works as an assistant in a woodmill. With the first loan that she received from Manuela Ramos (300 soles-Peruvian currency), Linda decided to invest it on selling agujina, molasses, and coarse mandioc flour as well as other regional products.

Currently, she still works on the same business and also sells "natural products". Linda works from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. which allows her to obtain good earnings to pay her loan on time. With this loan of 1500 soles (Peruvian currency), which she will pay back in 5 months, Linda will buy a sack of coarse mandioc flour, 4 sacks of aguaje, 50 kilos of molasses, 50 kilos of noni, etc.

Linda is happy because her business has grown and wishes to have a bigger stall to provide her younger son with a better education
