Voi, Kenya / Grocery Store

A loan of $350 helped to purchase maize flour, rice, beans, sugar, and cooking oil.

Majala's story

Majala is a married woman and has children, all of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past six years, she has operated a food kiosk business, selling food items of maize flour, maize flour, and cooking fat to her neighbours and passersby. She mentioned high cost of seasonality as her major challenge. Majala dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.

With the 30,000 KES, she wants to purchase maize flour, rice, beans, sugar, and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business
