Flordelis, a mother of three children, helps her husband operate their own farm to make a living. For eight years, the couple has earned well to provide for the family.
Flordelis had planned to improve their farm in order to send her children to school. Recently, she took a new loan from GDMPC micro credit to purchase fertilizer to have higher returns. In the future, she wants to provide a good education to her children and improve the general living situation of the entire family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
