Kassim's story

Mr. KASSIM was born in 1982 in SIKASSO. He is married and lives with his wife at his father’s house in MEDINE, a working-class district in Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). Mr. KASSIM is a health care technician. In addition, he has been working at buying and selling essential medicines for several years. With such experience in this domain, he enjoys a solid reputation.

He decided to join the the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso and is now on his first loan with it enabling him to increase his business capital, so as to respond to the expectations of his customers. He gets her supplies from pharmacies to be resold in his clinic. Thus, with this loan, he intends to purchase 10 boxes of of nivaquine syrup, 15 boxes of paracétamol, and more significant quantities of essential medicines for retail sale to men and women customers paying with cash or credit.

With this initial loan, he envisions making an average monthly profit of 55,000 francs CFA that will be used to cover his expenses and pay back the loan with interest.
