Geejan Baji, married to H. A., lives in Kot Radha Kishan, 40 km from the city of Kasur, Pakistan. Geejan Baji owns a four-room brick house, in which she has been living for the last 35 years. She has two sons and two daughters: Geejan Baji's elder son has finished five years of schooling and now drives an auto-rickshaw, a local 3-wheel motor-vehicle. Her younger son is currently in the 8th grade. Geejan Baji's daughters stay at home and help take care of the household. Geejan Baji’s husband earns income selling milk obtained from buffalos to people in the local community. He has been in the business for the past 40 years and, presently, owns two buffalos. Geejan Baji herself is a housewife, taking care of the household and the family. She has successfully re-paid her two previous loans from Asasah (a micro-finance institute in Pakistan). Now, she is applying for a new loan to buy an additional buffalo for her husband's milk sales business.
