Ni Nengah Sumadi's story

Mrs Ni Nengah Sumadi lives near the outskirt of a middle sized town. The Balinese tradition is still very important in many aspect of her community life, which contribute to the harmony of the village. Mrs. Nengah Sumadi farms two fattening pigs using simple traditional method. The farm income is ample enough to supplement her husband's farming income. Currently Mrs Ni Nengah Sumadi is enrolled in DINAR foundation's pig farm assistance program. She is applying for a 6 month loan that will be used to purchase piglets and feeds. She usually can earn $33 to $45 per pigs, depending on the weight. She uses that earnings to help her husband to afford her daily expenses.
