Careyl operates a transportation business for a living. After three years of running her transportation business, Careyl is happy to say that this helps her family a lot while awaiting the harvest from their crops. She has been able to sustain the business and has plans to improve the services. She borrowed a loan from GDMPC micro finance to buy new tires to replace the old ones and accessories like helmets and raincoats. In the future, she wants to have a better standard of living with her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
