A loan of $725 helped to build a corral for milking his cows.

Miguel Antonio's story

Pedro Vicente Maldonado is a canton with a humid climate. It is full of kind and hardworking people. This canton is the arrival point for many tourists because there are many inns all around where tourists can rest and be treated with friendliness and respect. A few minutes from this canton is the La Célica precinct, where Miguel lives and has his business.

Miguel is a 48 year-old man, a fighter who had spent almost all his life living with his parents and helping them with their farm. He is single and doesn’t have children. At this point in time, he is living independently and has his own farm, where he works in milk production.

He learned this line of work beginning in his childhood from his parents. Between the work as a day laborer that he does occasionally and his own business, he works an average of 10 hours a day.

He is asking for this loan to invest in his business, to build a corral for milking his cows. With this investment he will improve the care of his cows and they will increase their milk production. Miguel is thinking of starting a household and having children, so he wants his finances to improve. Miguel is thankful to Fundación Alternativa and Kiva for the support and opportunities provided.
