Manuel's story

Manuel is 53 and lives in the town of Nahualá in the department of Sololá. He is unmarried and has made a living buying and selling bananas in his community for 20 years. Manuel needs a loan of 4,500 quetzals to buy bananas and then resell them. He says that the more stock he carries, the more money he is able to earn. Manuel's goal is to gain more customers and sell his product in larger quantities.
