A loan of $1,475 helped to buy agricultural supplies to care for her coffee crops.

Gregoria's story

Gregoria, age 63, has achieved a lot of positive results with her coffee crops because of the effort and sacrifice she makes with her husband and her family in order to get ahead. In her youth she did not have the opportunity to sit in a seat in a classroom in order to study to learn to read and write. However, this has not been an impediment to her prospering in her life. She and her husband have three children. Only a daughter lives with them, and she contributes to the household chores.

Her experience in this business activity is very rich with knowledge because she has had many highs and lows. They have been opportunities in her life to improve and get ahead. She also sells beans and corn on Thursdays and Sundays and the local market in the city in which her family is involved.

Her plans for the future are to improve her house, which needs repairs, and the continual improvement of her coffee property. The land is an important factor in the economy of her household. Each season they hope to get good results in order to get ahead.

This will be possible each time that she has agricultural supplies like fertilizers, compost, leaf fertilizer, and herbicides, among other. They help to prevent the contamination of pest infestations and ‘la roya’ [coffee rust] that can affect her plants more during this season. They are thriving, hoping to be helped by the different lenders in order to get ahead.
