A loan of $1,075 helped buy raw materials like pepper, cumin, garlic, saffron, cinnamon, oregano, etc. to process and sell in small bags..

Olga Marina's story

Olga is 55 years old and lives with her two children and her common-law husband in a small town that is part of the community of La Entrada, Copan, near La Flecha, Santa Bárbara, Honduras. For the last 14 years she has had her own business selling condiments such as spices, cinnamon, saffron, oregano, curry, pepper, flavor enhancers, etc. She runs this business from her house, buying the raw materials and then processing and selling them. She has plans to expand her business and keep it well-stocked, and this is why she is asking for a loan of 20,500 lempiras to buy raw materials like pepper, cumin, garlic, saffron, cinnamon, oregano, etc. to process and sell in small bags. With her earnings she hopes to be able to continue to send her children to school and have a better life.
