Alexander is 42 years old. He did not attend school because there wasn't one close to where he lived, but bit by bit he fought on and was able to learn to read and write. His spouse is a homemaker and looks after their two children, of whom only one daughter goes to school.

Alexander does different types of work. He works in agriculture and he works at city hall. He also collects all of the iron and bronze metal he can find in order to sell it later. Also, when he doesn't have work, he sells atol (a masa-based drink) on buses that go between cities. He learned all of this out the need to bring home an income.

He has planted a hectare of maize. His work is close to home and he gets there on foot. He works from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Alexander will invest this loan in compost and fertilizer for the maize crops that he has already planted. Alexander hopes to continue working and moving forward in order to support his family.

Alexander tiene 42 años de edad, no fue a una escuela por razones de no haber cerca de donde él viva, pero poco a poco fue luchando y pudo aprender a leer y escribir, está acompañado su esposa se dedica a los quehaceres del hogar y al cuida de los 2 hijos, de los cuales solo una niña va a la escuela.

Él hace diferente tipos de trabajo, mencionando algunos podemos decir que se dedica a la agricultura, es vendedor en lo buses, trabaja en la alcaldía, todo lo aprendió por la necesidad de tener un ingreso al hogar, tiene cultivada una hectárea de maíz, recolecta todo el metal de hierro y bronce que consigue y posteriormente los vende, también cuando no trabaja en nada de lo mencionado anteriormente vende atol en los buses que transitan de una ciudad a otra, el trabajo lo tiene cerca de la casa y el recorrido lo hace a pie y lo hace de 8:00 am a 4:00 pm.

El préstamo será invertido para comprar abonos y fertilizantes para el cultivo de maíz que ya tiene sembrado.
Alexander espera seguir adelante trabajando para darle lo necesario a su familia.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
