Ghulam Fatima's Group's story

G. Fatima baji is a wife of A. S. and lives in the Walton area of Lahore, Pakistan. She has been living in this place for the last five years. She is the mother of five children: two sons and three daughters. All of her children are enrolled in the local schools. G. Fatima baji’s husband is a tailor. G. Fatima baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy another sewing machine for her husband.

She is joined in her loan group by three other women:
Rehana baji and another Rehana baji each want a loan to buy a rubbing machine. (Rubbing machines are used to plain marble floors.)
Mumtaz baji wants a loan to buy another movie camera for her movie making business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible for the repayment.

In this group: Ghulam Fatima, Rehana, Rehana, Mumtaz
