A loan of $1,125 helped to fix the roof and renovate the inside of his house.

Wilman Francisco's story

The Pedro Vicente Maldonado Canton is a beautiful place with a warm, humid climate and kind, hard-working people. This canton is the arrival point for many tourists because there are many hostels where they can rest and be treated with kindness and respect.

Close to this canton are several enclaves, one of which is Recinto la Celica. This is where Wilman, 52, lives and runs his business. He is married and has three adult children, the eldest of which is 26 and the youngest, 19. His wife helps run the business.

Wilman produces milk and learned the trade from his parents when he was a young man. He was raised on a cattle ranch and helped his parents. He spends an average eight hours a day on the job and his wife helps milk the cows.

The loan he is requesting is to fix the roof and renovate the inside of his house. This is so he can provide his family with a better quality of life. Wilman is grateful to Fundacion Alternativa and Kiva for their support and this opportunity.
