Unidos Venceremos (Portoviejo) Group's story

Every 15 days, the "United We'll Conquer" loan group meets in the Maestro Citadel in the city of Portoviejo, capital of Manabi, known for many years as the city of the Royal Tamarind. This is a group of people made up of 13 women and two men, who a while ago decided to unite and form this group with which they have helped each other get ahead. They are dedicated to different work such as trade, sales, production and services.

One of the members of this group is Isela. She is 45 years old, married and, from this relationship, has four adult children. Two of them still live with her. Her husband works for the State. Since she was very young, she learned beautician skills and she graduated from an academy as a stylist. Isela is a woman who has always liked to work to get herself ahead and, with the fruit of her labors, helped to pay the education expenses of her children. She has a beauty salon where she performs different grooming and beauty work. She works every day from 9AM until 9PM and if a customer needs her services later, this does not inconvenience her since her salon is in her house. She works with a young lady who she pays for her services. As well as her work, she also sells diet products and personal care products. She has more than seven years experience with her work, which she loves.

This loan will be used to buy products like dyes, creams and slimming products, among other products that she sells. She has been with the loan group since the beginning and she likes it because of the help the loans provide. Her goal is to have a complete spa. The small photo is of the three members who could not be present when they took the group photo.

In this group: Isela Audrey, Dolores Del Carmen, Angie Stephany, Nury Maricel, Fanny Soledad, Gloria Aracely, María José, Celia Catalina, Marcel Eduardo, Javier Antonio, Gloria María, Liria Elizabeth*, Marianita Auxiliadora*, Peggi Egnita, Gloria Ignacia
