A loan of $425 helped to buy summer clothing items to offer for sale in her community.

Parveen's story

Parveen, age 43, operates a small clothing business from her home. She purchases clothes from the market at low prices and sells them at a profit to members of her community. The ladies of her town are enthusiastic about her garment collection and appreciate the selection she offers. Parveen's husband works in a small business and receives a low wage, so her family is grateful for the extra income that is generated by her efforts. She and her husband have six children. The family lives in Lahore. Now that the summer season is in process, she would like to buy summer clothing items to offer for sale. Due to household expenses, she does not have the available cash to make these purchases. She has therefore requested a Kiva loan so that she can buy summer clothes, allowing her to cope with customer demand. She hopes to use her income to provide better living conditions and facilities for her family. Her greatest wish is to help ensure a bright future for her children. She is very thankful to Kiva and to its field partner Brac Pakistan.
