A loan of $2,000 helped to build a hygienic latrine and septic tank to improve her household sanitation practices for the sake of her family.

Sarom's story

Sarom is 47 years old and a married woman with four children. One of her children is married and three are single.

Sarom works on her own farmland located in Prey Chhor, Kampong Cham, on which she primarily grows rice as a subsistence crop. She has been doing this, with support from her husband, for more than 20 years.

Thanks to Hattha Kaksekar's new water loan program with a special rate, Sarom is encouraged to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions, safeguarding her family's health and protecting the environment. She will use the loan she's applying for to build a hygienic latrine and septic tank to improve her household sanitation practices for the sake of her family.
