A loan of $2,000 helped to buy an ice cream cooler and increase her merchandise.

Darwicha's story

Darwicha is a 54-year-old single woman and the sole earner for two members of her family. Seven years ago she opened a grocery shop in a Palestinian camp and it has many customers. After facing the struggle of making enough revenue to cover the cost of the shop, she has since started earning a steady income from her business.

She acquired another new loan from Kiva’s field partner Al Majmoua to buy an ice cream cooler and increase her merchandise since she counts on the coming summer months to make more profit.

She intends to develop her business more one day in a way that better improves her family's livelihood.
