A loan of $6,325 helped a member buy paints and ceramics to make her crafts with.

Las Cuencanitas (Cuenca) Group's story

The Las Cuencanitas group is made up of one male and six female members who are all fighters, happy and hard working people who every day strive to help their families get ahead. They live in the city of Cuenca, which is well known and admired by many for the colonial beauty of its historical centre and its warm and friendly people who maintain the culture and traditions of their ancestors.

One of the members of the group is Ms. Nancy who is 39 years old, married and has 3 children from her union aged 14, 13 and 11. Her oldest children go to high school and her youngest child goes to the little school in her city. Her husband is currently abroad and supports them financially; they own the house they live in.

Ms. Nancy dedicates herself to her household chores and to making crafts to decorate the home, in fact she is a certified crafter. She will invest the money from this loan in buying paints and ceramics to make her crafts with. Her goal is to have a store where she can display and sell her creations.

In this group: Mónica Jhanina, Jheovanna Catalina, Jenny Priscila, Arturo, Teresa Del Rocio, Rosa Magdalena, Nancy Del Pilar
