A loan helped to add seven female calves to her existing herd.

Donika's story

Donika is a 35-year-old, married mother of three. Her children are aged 8, 5 and 2 years. Her husband has been blind since birth.

She wants to add seven female baby calves to the existing herd of six cows and four baby calves. Currently, three of her cows are producing milk and three are pregnant. Donika’s plans are to sell only baby calves to locals, from now.

Donika is a hard-working woman; she not only takes care of her young children and her husband, but she also does business. In addition to the livestock, she has rented from neighbors some agricultural land, where she plants corn and fodder for the animals. Thus, she doesn’t have to buy these things. She plows the soil herself, with an agricultural tractor, and she grinds large quantities of corn with a grinding machine.
